A major IT exhibition “Smart city” was opened in Moscow06 October 2016
The Moscow “Smart city” IT exhibition was opened at VDNH (The Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy) last week. It presents most recent innovations, systems and devices that are used nowadays in the capital of Russia.
The area of “Smart city” center is about 1600 sq. m. The space is divided into several thematic areas: exhibition, education and business.
The showroom of the innovative exhibition introduces visitors to the modern features of smart systems that are embedded into the city’s infrastructure. For example, it presents the interactive map of the capital where you can find the information about each building.
Also, the demo-zone has an equipped video surveillance station. Since about 145 000 cameras are placed around the city, here there’s a possibility for the real time monitoring of all what is going on on each of the city streets. Besides, users have an access to the video and photo archive.
Seminars, lectures and thematic shows for children and grown-ups are conducted in the education area. It also has a cinema.
Business space is designed for conducting specialized conferences and presentations of various prototypes of smart devices. Startup founders can meet the investors here to present their project and receive funding.
In addition, the exhibition hall has a site for used digital devices. Here one can bring used laptops, computers, tablets and other gadgets that will be subsequently handed over to the disabled persons, insolvent large families and the senior people.
At the center opening ceremony, the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin said that there was hardly a single industry in the capital of Russia where IT innovations were not currently used. Smart technologies have become an integral part of everyday life of the city people. They communicate with officials in Twitter, it’s possible to penalize the violators of traffic using the “Moscow Assistant” application, people can use free city Wi-Fi network. Moscow can rightly be called one of the world’s leading smart cities, and the newly opened center of IT innovations is a proof of that.
“Smart city” center is open every day from 11:00 to 21:00.
