They are coming: the amount of malware software for IoT is increasing29 June 2017
Experts of “Kaspesky Laboratory” have found out that the amount of viruses for IoT devices has doubled in half a year. It is estimated that there are around 7 000 dangerous contents half of which appeared in the first two quarters of 2017. They allow breaking into virtually any device, monitoring its owners, stealing data, blackmailing and performing other illegal actions.
“Kaspesky Laboratory” conducted an experiment results of which prove the abovementioned information. Experts set traps imitating various IoT devices. The first attempts of hacking happened almost immediately after gadgets went online. They were attacked approximately 20 000 times in a day. 63% of attacks appeared via IP cameras, 16% - via routers; 20% of devices with illegal connection couldn’t be detected.
Specialists defined countries attacks were coming from. China, Vietnam and Russia were among leaders.
