The largest deal: SoftBank is going to take over ARM25 July 2016
ARM Holding brand, the processors of which are installed in 95 % of smartphones, iPhones and AppleWatches, will be purchased by SoftBank at the price of $32 bn. The event may become the largest acquisition made by SoftBank and the first one in the sphere of SemiCon industry.
The technology of the company is well suited for modern IoT [V1] gadgets, which provide intellectual options and Internet connection.
ARM, which is now creating processor architecture and collaborating with Qualcomm, Samsung and Apple, is keeping the area of activity and the partners. The executive group and headquarters location (Cambridge, the UK) will not undergo any changes.
Among business assets of SoftBank are American telecommunication company Srint, Chinese commerce service Alibaba and SoftBank Robotics, which produces a popular robot Pepper.
Whether the deal will be made or not remains to be seen as British politicians oppose to international agreements.
