US-based Intellitronix to buy 2800 robots produced by Russian startup

Russian startup called Promobot will sell 2800 robots to the USA for 56.7 million dollars. Its product is a social robot that serves as a promoter in congestion places.

The contract with the US company is signed for five years: within this period, developers are obliged to provide their customers with the stipulated amount of robots. 75 of them will be given this year, and 100 robots will be delivered each month. Intellitronix, becoming an exclusive distributor of Promobot in the USA, has not yet announced the final price in the country. The US demand for these robots significantly exceeds developers’ supplying possibilities, thus the startup’s priority goal is to increase the manufacturing volume.

As of today, Promobot has already sold 320 robots in Russia and other eighteen countries.

Rockwell to buy 8.4% of PTC stocks in order to develop industrial automation systems

Moret, the CEO at Rockwell, will be included to the board of directors of PTC, a company engaged in the development of smart manufacturing technologies. Besides, the US provider of process and hybrid production solutions will purchase part of the РТС shares for 1 billion dollars.

The firms will sign an agreement to combine several software solutions into the package for major manufacturing enterprises. The fruitful cooperation of Rockwell Automation and РТС will soon allow to obtain an access to such solutions as Vuforia AR technology, ThingWorx platform, Kepware data integration software, and FactoryTalk.

Airbus collects 214 applications using Russian startup accelerator – GenerationS

214 unique applications were sent to the aerospace innovative development contest organized by Airbus. They were collected using GenerationS, an accelerator founded in Russia.

majority of projects submitted for consideration are from the Russian Federation (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Ekaterinburg). There are also participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, and Switzerland. GenerationS, a corporate acceleration platform, allowed the aerospace company to collect very high-level competitive projects. After the Airbus inspection, the best of them will be involved in a half-year program called Airbus Bizlab in Toulouse, France. Besides, startups will be considered by company’s certain divisions.

Delimobil, a company of per-minute and daily car rent, has increased the amount of its cars twice. The service has acquired 3000 Volkswagen Polo Drives. The exact deal value is still unknown, but according to the rough estimates, it could cost the car sharing service 1.9 billion rubles. Delimobil will put acquired Volkswagens into operation in Moscow in autumn 2018. It can increase the company’s market share by 10%.

Self-driving Yandex.Taxi makes its first inter-city trip

video of the car’s trip from Moscow to Kazan was put on the Web at free access. According to the clip, the car overcame 789 km on its own. A driver, who was in the passenger compartment to control the process and system behavior, took the wheel only several times: when the car required refueling and getting around a poor-quality road.

The company stresses that a prototype of the self-driving car has successfully passed the test and is ready for operation. The Yandex.Taxi system managed to move along the route at different time of day and various weather conditions. The overall time on the road was 11 hours.
